Luke 3:19,20 February 13, 2001 Dear friends, On 1-25-2001 I was sentenced to 7 months, 5 days in the Milwaukee County House of Corrections by Judge Jean "Jezebel" DiMotto. I was convicted of a charge of Bail Jumping on 12-15-2000. I was charged with Bail Jumping 7-30-99 while preaching across the street from Planned Parenthood’s Wisconsin headquarters. Approximately 70 people were present on this last day of a 2 week Exposing Planned Parenthood Tour, sponsored by Missionaries to the Preborn.. Several of us were taking turns preaching that morning to the deathscorts, police, those seeking abortion, and others present. I was preaching about 10 minutes. During that time I named the deathscorts one by one declaring that "you will burn in hell if you don’t repent!" I was arrested after I mentioned the name "Don Packard." A year earlier I was charged with Disorderly Conduct at the same location. The conditions of my bail bond was that I keep 25 feet away from the clinic, and have no contact with 6 individuals including Packard. I refused to sign the bond remaining in jail a month fighting these conditions. I realized these conditions could entrap me while I ministered at the clinics. I finally signed "under duress" next to my name the day before my daughter’s wedding. Jezebel did everything in her power to sabotage my defense. She ordered 11 motions in limine to limit the evidence I could submit. I was not allowed to tell the jury that I signed the bail under duress. I could not say anything that might resemble a jury nullification statement; the jury has a right to judge both the facts and the law as applied, I was forbidden to tell the jury my religious beliefs, nor was I permitted to contextualize my "word crime" as occurring at an abortion clinic. The State denied the existence of a video of the incident until the day of the trial. I insisted they had video in our pre-trial hearings as I remembered their cameraman. The State produced their video on the day of the trial! Jezebel denied me an adjournment for this belated discovery. She would not permit either the State’s nor the defendant’s video to be shown to the jury! She further restricted my witnesses from testifying as to what they heard me say, ruling that it was hearsay! She would not allow me to argue my rights under the 1st Amendment. She did many other things blatantly unjust to bring me to this place. I will share with you my elocution statement before I was laid in chains:
Jezebel was baring her fangs by the time I finished my statement. She declared that I threatened Don Packard with my words. She said that I was hostile toward the law! She told me that she would teach me a lesson! I learned this lesson long before she donned her black robe. Am I to expect fair and impartial treatment from a government which permits, protects, and promotes baby-murder using my tax dollars? Is there not a conflict of interest? Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptists: "To compel a man to pay sums of money to propagate opinions to which he disagrees with and finds abhorrent is tyranny!" Who is the injured party? Don Packard? The State? Am I Packard’s enemy because I tell him the truth? Were the good people of Wisconsin cheated out of an execution of one of it’s unwanted inhabitants? Would it had pleased the State if that child which escaped the assassin’s bloody hands would have perished with the others? With time-served, good-time, and work credit I expect my 7 month 5 day sentence to be completed on 6-11-2001. Pray that God will use my time to His glory, to expand His kingdom in this dark place.
